Announcing PANTONE’s Color of the Year…

It’s called “MARSALA” aka PANTONE 18-1438, and personally, I love it! Pantone describes it as “a naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls”

PantoneColor2015MARSALAPantoneMARSALA-COMPIt’s a rich yet muted shade found as much in reproduction palettes as in casual, contemporary fabrics, from PAULA BARNES COMPANIONS and POMEGRANATE LANE and THE SEASONS WOOL COLLECTION to NEW AGED MUSLINS and more.  Things are looking up for 2015…see? >>

How do you like Pantone’s pick? I’m sure we have lots of other MARSALA fans out there, so leave a comment below and you could win a fun little bundle of MARSALA-worthy fabrics.  We’ll draw a random winner next Tuesday! —  lisa s

See Lynn’s New “Marcus Medley”

Lynn Wilder of the Sew’n Wild Oaks Quilting blog has been BUSY with Marcus Fabrics!  Look at what she whipped up just yesterday.  She describes it best, so check out this post, then go back to her November 24 post, too, featuring HANNAH’S HERITAGE by Judie Rothermel. Of course, she has lots of other cool stuff in between, too — and throughout the blog — but somehow, these two posts just caught my attention…  —- lisa s

McCall’s Quilting Loves Faye Burgos Florals!

Fresh on my desk this morning:  The new Jan/Feb 2015 issue of McCall’s Quilting magazine.  And gracing the cover is their “Cottage Romance” design, made up of prints from AMERICAN BOUQUET and SIDEWALK CAFE, both by Faye Burgos.  As you can see, her classic florals combine beautifully in this generous 96″ square quilt. This issue contains Part 1 of the 6-part series, resulting in this gorgeous quilt at the end of the year.  Enjoy the creative process in two-month intervals, as well as the convenience of a Kit, available through the magazine.

“The Wools Are So Lovely!”

ToniKSteere-customerPomegMore from Toni on the road:  While visiting Charlotte’s Sew Natural in Newton, KS, she came across these first blocks from THE SEASONS ON POMEGRANATE LANE  — we think they’re off to a great start!

Check out Charlotte’s or your favorite local quilt shop to sign up for this beautiful BOM project, featuring wool applique on cotton prints, both by The Quilted Crow Girls Designs.  THE SEASONS wool collection started with 20 colors, and 6 more colors will be added in January…
