QuiltCon Recap – It’s All About COLOR!

One of the bigger takeaways from QuiltCon was the profusion of color to be found in trending rainbow quilts, with quilt designers going “full-spectrum” within a single quilt.  Case in point: the latest from our own Studio 37 designers:

Sarah J Maxwell’s new line, a SHOUT, a Whisper, a textand her accompanying quilt design were a highlight of the Studio 37 booth at the show! The group of prints is all about how we communicate and relate to one another, in a palette of subtly-softened brights. Motifs include Morse code, shorthand, texting terms and others. The quilt also incorporates several CENTENNIAL SOLIDS. Available in quilt shops in May.

At the VFWQuilts booth, Victoria Findlay Wolfe featured her new Snack Sets, a fun mix of shapes and CENTENNIAL SOLIDS in smaller “snack-sized” projects. Here she mixes various Snack Sets for a bright, colorful effect: Available now thru her online store.

And of course, Nancy Rink’s new GTKH: Getting to Know HUE fabrics and BOM quilt also stopped quilters in their tracks!  The upscale look and feel of these  “modern mixer” motifs set them apart from other blender groups, making them the perfect new basic for contemporary quilts (as Pati was explaining to some of the enthusiastic admirers at the show.)  Join the BOM now at your favorite local quilt shop!
