Since our last post about the new book by the ladies of Red Crinoline Quilts, an office copy has arrived, and it just as fabulous as we knew it would be!  As promised, we’ve partnered up with Martingale for a fabric-and-book double giveaway, both here and on the Martingale blog.

Paula + Mary Ellen = Newly Published Authors!

PaulaMaryEllenCongratulations to Paula Barnes and Mary Ellen Robison of Red Crinoline Quilts on the publication of their first book, TRIBUTES and TREASURES! Published by Martingale, its official release date is October 6 and of course, it’s full of projects just perfect for showcasing Paula Barnes’ gorgeous fabric prints!

And even more exciting, we’re joining in the celebration with this design duo and our friends at Martingale for a fabrics-and book blogpost giveaway on October 8, so be sure to stop by again, comment and subscribe to our blog to be eligible to win.

#MarcusAtMarket Wrap-Up

Another Spring Quilt Market concludes!  Thank you to our customers, friends, associates and designers for another successful event.  From long before booth set-up to breakdown, it takes lots of hands to make it all happen…

There’s so much happening at Marcus, and Booth 1901 reflects it all beautifully:

1 – At left is the new Amish with a Twist III BOM by Nancy Rink, surrounded by a variety of garments and crafts in wool & cotton.

2 – l. to r.: Quilts in PAISLEY PERSUASION, PAST ENDEARMENTS and HISTORICAL STRIPES

3 – Customer service pros Indra (seated) and Regina discuss our latest with shop owners.

4 – Table tops are adorned with fusible applique – a great idea for special event decorating.  Later, you can cut away the appliqued square to repurpose as a pillow front of quilt block!

5 – ALWAYS THE SEASON quilt and holiday crafts!

6 & 7 – Two of our designers set up their booths just across from us – Pam Buda of Heartspun Quilts (you can tell her booth by the red  ; ) and Paula Barnes of Red Crinoline Quilts.

Mary Ellen’s HISTORICAL STRIPES, in Progress

HistoricalStripesBlocksMary Ellen Robison, of the Red Crinoline quilts design team (along with Paula Barnes), showed off these blocks from her in progress Richmond quilt featuring Paula’s HISTORICAL STRIPES collection.  The quilt was one of her projects from the Camp Blanding Retreat, one of their annual events.  From her blog post, I’d say everyone had a fabulous time, all 110 of them!!

Congratulations to everyone who kept up, and if you were not able to, we’re sure that this image of the finished quilt will inspire you to catch up in the completion phase.

And thanks to all of our talented and generous designers for taking time to participate, including the gorgeous finishing design by Paula Barnes and piecing by Mary Ellen Robison of Red Crinoline Quilts with quilting and binding by Gloria Parsons of Olde Green Cupboard Designs.
