Pretty Perfect Pinwheels

Here’s a cute idea from Pati Violick, our Director of Marketing. It’s a great project for Li’l Bits 5-inch fabric squares. Try them for quick seasonal decor (think poinsettia prints and snowflakes for the coming holidays.) Or as shown here, try Aunt Grace prints for a nursery mobile. Here’s how:

Pretty Perfect Pinwheels

Sandwich a 5″ square of fusible web between two contrasting fabric squares, with their wrong sides together. Fuse. Make diagonal cuts from each corner toward the center, stopping about halfway down. Turn in the points of every other half-corners and tack with hot glue, creating the pinwheel “fans”. Secure and conceal the points by glueing a button at the center.

Bunch the pinwheels together as a dimensional bouquet on a wall hanging, add a stick to each one and “plant” them in a flower pot, or suspend them from the ceiling or a mobile frame with monofilament thread at varying lengths.
