It’s a “Lucy Boston Lovefest” at Yankee Cloth

Recently, our own Pati and Regina took to the road, including a visit to Yankee Cloth in Wallingford, CT, where they treated attendees to wonderful presentation!  They had the crowd entranced as they shared tips for creating “LB” style quilts and other English paper piecing techniques. It begins with novelty stripes like HISTORICAL STRIPES by Paula Barnes of Red Crinoline Quilts and ends in a surprising variety of looks, dpending on how you cut the fabric motifs.  Of course, Pati also incorporated her favorite supplies from Paper Pieces to simplify the intricate-looking process.

Shown standing are (l. to r.) Linda, Nancy, Pati and Regina.  The happy quilters all received a mink kit to create their own block, and we’ve already started to collect photos of them, so stay tuned as the Lucy Boston Lovefest continues…

  1. This is such a beautiful quilt. Is there a pattern available for the block? I love the way the use of different fabric makes each block look so different.

  2. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to attend. Pati and Regina were so excited to share their love of Lucy Boston and related paper piecing designs, fabrics, and very helpful hints. By the end of day, I was energized to continue my own journey with Lucy Boston. The treats given to us from Marcus were such a nice touch to the lecture. Still working on my block with the beautiful new fabric and paper pieces Pati and Regina shared.

  3. These blocks are wonderful!!
How do I learn this technique. Will someone come to our guild in New Braunfels, Texas and teach us?
    Mary
