We’re pleased to be a part of the ongoing charitable efforts of Quilts Beyond Borders, an organization that reaches out to provide handmade quilts and spread love and hope to under-served children, mainly orphans, across the world.
Organizer Tina Freudenberger explains that the not-for-profit group completely relies upon the generosity of our volunteers and corporate gifts, and recently acknowledged its supporters online. We certainly appreciate the work of QBB and its volunteers, another fine example of quilters coming together to share their time and talents.
If you’re attending Quilt Festival in Houston this year, you’ll find QBB in the 300 aisle, near the Quilts of Valor and American Sewing Guild area.
We’d like to thank all of the attendees who enjoyed the Lucy Boston presentation by Pati and Regina last month at Yankee Cloth in Wallingford, CT. As promised, everyone who submitted a photo of her completed LB block was entered into a special random drawing to win one of the THREE gift baskets shown here, and we’ve just chosen the lucky winners…

Wow! The December 2015 issue of American Quilting & Patchwork magazine (APQ) has a real treat for all of us Pam Buda fans – it’s a multi-page profile of our favorite prairie-inspired quilt designer, photographed inside her beautiful Illinois home!
Naturally, many of the designs shown are patterns available thru Heartspun Quilts, and they feature her fabric collections including TREENWARE & BERRIES and AMERICAN GOTHIC.
Below you’ll see Pam on the left, and design director Nancy Wiles and photographer Greg Scheidemann styling a shot in her living room. It’s great when a designer’s home and furnishings are a true reflection of her work ; )

Sponsored by the Quilt Alliance, the annual event features, lectures, presentations, workshops and special events. This year took on added meaning for Marcus as we prepare to launch Victoria Findlay Wolfe’s premiere fabric collection, MOSTLY MANOR! As you can see already, it’s a gorgeous mix of color and pattern, representing her timeless mix of traditional and contemporary styles. Recently, our own Pati and Regina took to the road, including a visit to Yankee Cloth in Wallingford, CT, where they treated attendees to wonderful presentation! They had the crowd entranced as they shared tips for creating “LB” style quilts and other English paper piecing techniques. It begins with novelty stripes like HISTORICAL STRIPES by Paula Barnes of Red Crinoline Quilts and ends in a surprising variety of looks, dpending on how you cut the fabric motifs. Of course, Pati also incorporated her favorite supplies from Paper Pieces to simplify the intricate-looking process.
