#MarcusMarketMania – Sarah’s Schoolhouse

In our first Schoolhouse session, Sarah Maxwell of Designs by Sarah J shared ways for quilt shop owners to update their offerings, while attendees got a closeup look at her new “Hashtag” quilt design, done up in her new REVVED UP RETRO collection for Studio 37 Fabrics.

Other quilts that helped to illustrate her suggestions included (left to right and top to bottom): Nancy RInk’s AMISH WITH A TWIST 3; Nancy’s A NEW AGE, another REVVED UP RETRO quilt, NOT SO WILD WEST by Irene Chan, and Sarah’s new Primo Batik BOMs, RADIANT REFLECTIONS and RIVER ROCK (they’re made with pre-cut 10″ x 10″ packs!)  Whew!  And the show  hasn’t even officially begun yet!

Is it just me, or did anyone else notice how the attendees’ clothing seemed to coordinate with each quilt being held up? See below…

#MarcusMarketMania – Wrapped in Joy for 2016

Yes, that’s Holiday 2016 .. our Sneak Peek showcase at QM features the debut collection by Rachel Pellman,  aka Rachel’s of Greenfield.  This is just a small hint of the line’s versatility – it’s a one-stop shop for creative holiday quilts, decor, crafts and gift-giving. Check out her pre-printed panel, Strip-It design and cut-outs for appliques, ornaments, tags and more at Booth 1022, and watch for the collection online in January.#marcusmarketmania

#MarcusMarketMania – Designers at Work

…No, they’re not contemplating colors and patterns right now; they’re setting up various booths in preparation for Quilt Market!  Here’s the evidence, from Sarah Maxwell, Victoria Findlay Wolfe, and Paula Barnes and Mary Ellen Robison. So far, so good, ladies  ; )

Sew on the Go…Literally!

Sew on the Go...LiterallyCheck out this adorable sewing machine cover, cleverly disguised as a vintage camper! Even as it was being unpacked and still on the hotel luggage cart, it quickly became one of our more eye-catching – and amusing – booth samples.  Can’t you just imagine the little quilter stitching away inside it?

If you love vacationing with your sewing machine, you pretty much have to have one of these… This one was sewn up by Miriam Rawson in GRACIE’S SCHOOLHOUSE CLASSICS by Judie Rothermel – no better choice for a vintage camper than everyone’s favorite 1930’s reproduction fabrics!  Note that Miriam made hers a bit longer than the original pattern to accommodate her Bernina machine.

<  Need pattern information? The original design for the Vintage Caravan Sewing Machine Cover is by Janine at Rainbow Hare in the UK.
