“Step Back in Time” with Paula and Mary Ellen

Congratulations to Paula Barnes and Mary Ellen Robison on the release of their latest book, Step Back in Time (Martingale).  Reproduction-fabric collectors and antique quilt lovers alike will love this the much-anticipated follow-up to Tributes and Treasures!  The Red Crinoline Quilts design duo presents an all-new, jaw-dropping collection of 13 of their vintage-inspiredquilt patterns. Each quilt design is paired with a fascinating historical account from the 1800s. More than 70 beautiful photos capture the style and sentiment of this unique era in American quilting history.

You’ll enjoy recreating their designs with your favorite Paula Barnes collections, including BALTIMORE HOUSE and her newest line (stay tuned for that one – it’s coming soon!!)

Look for the book at your local quilt shop, or visit Martingale.

Judie’s Prints Are the Key to Carol’s 4″ x 5″ Club!

CarolBlogQuiltCU
Wow! The excitement continues to build over Carol Hopkins’ exciting “It’s Not A Square” Club, and the outstanding job she did in curating the prints from Judie Rothermel’s new AMERICAN SWATCH BOOK collection! Carol chose the perfect blend of black, pink, red and blue prints.
In fact, it was Carol’s own admiration and respect for Judie’s reproduction expertise that led her to approach Marcus and Judie to create the collection especially for her new book The 4″ x 5″ Quilt-Block Anthology, co-authored with Linda M. Koenig (Martingale)
You know how rare it is for a quilting book to be released, with fabrics available at the same time, and we know you can’t wait to get started!  Look for these gorgeous fabrics to arrive in your favorite quilt shops in early June – that’s just about 5 short weeks away!

Jennifer describes it to us: “One of my mom’s newest quilts, “Star Gazing” was created with Marcus Fabrics. Every time she goes fabric shopping, she just pulls what she likes, and half of them are usually Marcus Fabrics. We have also hand quilted for Judie Rothermel, so of course, those Civil War prints are favorites.”

Enjoy the Bellwether event from December 2 to 4…and feel free to report back!
