AccuQuilt Loves AUNT GRACE, Too!

It seems everyone is rediscovering our AUNT GRACE 1930s vintage print collections by reproduction innovator Judie Rothermel, and interpreting them in such exciting new ways!  Recently we featured Laura Coia of Sew Very Easy, and now we’re pleased to share more fresh (and FREE!) inspiration from our friends at AccuQuilt.  This time they’re using Judie’s latest, AUNT GRACE BASKETS OF SCRAPS, along with their GO! Qube GO! Qube Mix & Match 8” Block (55776) and GO! Qube 8” Companion Set-Classics (55780), with fantastic results…

AccuQuilt GO! Qube and Autn Grace FAbrics - marcusfabrics.comWe love their mix of prints and colors to create the diagonal stretched stars motif across the 48″ square quilt.  It’s the perfect size for a baby quilt or chair throw.  This is a timeless look that epitomizes the current 1930s Vintage decorating trends, and it works beautifully in traditional and modern room settings alike.

And as we begin September as National Sewing Month, there’s no better time than  to start your own Aunt Grace quilt!

Who Doesn’t Love 1930s Prints?

Quilting’s love affair with 1930s prints continues, as American Quilt Retailer magazine pays tribute to the category in its December 2014 issue.  Believe it or not, it’s been more than 25 years since Marcus debuted Aunt Grace fabrics by Judie Rothermel, a brand that continues to lead the industry in 1930s reproductions. And there’s more to come…watch for beautiful, new Aunt Grace collections from Judie in the coming year.

Until then, take a look at the latest, AUNT GRACE SIMPLER SAMPLER – you’ll love Judie’s pre-printed panel blocks with coordinates and the gorgeous BOM quilt by Vicki Bellino.  It looks like paper piecing, but it’s simpler! The program begins next month.

It Must Be Quilt Market Time Again

Aside from the sheer chaos that takes place here in the NY office as we prepare for Market season after season, another sure way to tell that the big show is approaching is the arrival of gorgeous quilts in the office.  Pati usually displays them for a day or two before packing them up.  Today, the view from our hallway includes the new AUNT GRACE SIMPLER SAMPLER BOM quilt (Fabrics by Judie Rothermel, Quilt & Program by Vicki Bellino).  The program begins January 2015 – visit your local quilt shop to reserve your space now!  Next to the BOM quilt is Vicki’s charming miniature design (28″ x 28″), entitled First Bloom – it’s also done with the new Aunt Grace collection.

If you’re attending Quilt Market (for the trade only), you can see these up close & personal in BOOTH 1802 – see you soon!

From a True Judie Rothermel Fan…

We received this note from quilter & Aunt Grace aficionado, Amy DeCesare of Delmont, PA.  Like Amy, we’re amazed that ten years have passed so quickly…check out her recent blog post & great photos!  Thanks for your note, Amy!

I was just writing a new post for my blog, about a quilt I made 10 years ago using Aunt Grace Through the Year.  {Ten years ago, already???}   When I linked to the Marcus Brothers website, I discovered your 25th Anniversary celebration is underway!

Here is one of the photos I used in the blog post.  As I mentioned in the feature, I do a lot of modern sewing, but will always love vintage quilts and fabrics.  I plan to make another quilt soon from the prints I’ve got left from this line.

Congratulations on 25 years of beloved designs, Judie!  I look forward to many more!
Regards,  Amy DeCesare
