Congratulations to this week’s Marcus Mugrug Challenge winner, Bonnie Scott, aka @joyfuladornments! Her particularly artful mugrug features the added dimension of prairie points, in a cool and contemporary color palette.  It could just as easily be hung on the wall as placed under her favorite cup.  Extra credit for the added dazzle of her well-coordinated glass bead earring adornments, and great quilting, too!  Thanks for a fun entry, Bonnie. And for the rest of you…your own entries can be simple or elaborate, just be sure to enter before April 30 – you’ve still got 3 weeks, but don’t delay! Quilting expert Rob Appell has just launched a new site called Mansewing.com, in conjunction with our friends at Missouri Star Quilt Company.  Well, we were thrilled to learn that his premiere episode features our own NEW AGED MUSLINS, in a curved piecing tutorial.

If you’ve never done cured piecing, trust me, it’s sooo much AgedMuslinsFQ-Missourieasier without pins, as Rob demonstrates.  So be sure to check out his site for some great mid-winter inspiration  ; )

A Little Bump in the Road (to California)

PatiVickiRoadCA15It’s time for Road to California, taking place this weekend in Ontario, CA.  Pati (on the left) reports a missing shipment!!

“Even though our shipment didn’t arrive me and Vickie are “making do” with what we have.  We are smiling but we’re not happy about the missing shipment”. Hopefully it will show up, and be the only bump in an otherwise smooth Road Trip.  At least the weather looks good from here, Pati…

Check out Charlotte’s or your favorite local quilt shop to sign up for this beautiful BOM project, featuring wool applique on cotton prints, both by The Quilted Crow Girls Designs.  THE SEASONS wool collection started with 20 colors, and 6 more colors will be added in January…
