Goodbye, Holidays…Hello, BOM Sign-Up Season!

Hello Quilting Friends!  If you haven’t signed up yet for your favorite 2019 Marcus BOM programs yet, remember that January marks the start of three exciting block-of-the-month programs, followed by three more beginning in March.  You’ll love these gorgeous designs by Nancy Rink, Pam Buda, Sarah Maxwell, and Sheryl Johnson.

Never tried a BOM?  We’ve got the Top Ten Reasons why you should! So, check out the program details, then visit your local quilt shop to participate!

TWO New BOMs for Summer Fun!

Do you ever take a look at your fabric stash, and discover fresh, new inspiration for something you acquired a while back?  If so, you’ll appreciate our two “second-glance”  BOM programs, just introduced at Marcus Fabrics In each case, the designers revisited the already-released collections, and came up with these exciting designs!

First, Living in the Moment features the cool blues and touches of Greenery from Laura Berringer’s IN THE MOMENT collection.  The quilt design is by our friends at the Material Girlfriends.  The little house blocks are an office favorite  ; )

And you’ll also love Laura’s  NIGHT STONES neutrals, especially in Vicki Bellino’s trio of projects, including a sampler-style BOM row quilt, appliqued 12″ decorative block. Then, there’s her gorgeous table runner – be sure to position the prints as Vicki did for that gorgeous mirrored  ombre-effect!  Visit Vicki at Bloom Creek.

Look for these programs in your local quilt shops – the Night Stones BOM is available now, and the Living in the Moment BOM appears in shops beginning July.

“The Wools Are So Lovely!”

ToniKSteere-customerPomegMore from Toni on the road:  While visiting Charlotte’s Sew Natural in Newton, KS, she came across these first blocks from THE SEASONS ON POMEGRANATE LANE  — we think they’re off to a great start!

Check out Charlotte’s or your favorite local quilt shop to sign up for this beautiful BOM project, featuring wool applique on cotton prints, both by The Quilted Crow Girls Designs.  THE SEASONS wool collection started with 20 colors, and 6 more colors will be added in January…

Lil’ Red Hen’s New Aunt Grace Top!

On the road with Marcus sales rep Toni Kay Steere!  Her recent visit to Li’l Red Hen Quilt Shop in Paola, Kansas turned up this beautifully sewn Aunt Grace SIMPLER SAMPLER quilt top.  Jenny, the shop owner, sewed the design, saying it was a pleasure to stitch up.  With fabrics by Judie Rothermel and the BOM quilt design by Vicki Bellino of Bloom Creek, how could it not be?  We think you’ll love it, too, so look for it at your favorite quilt shop – the 6 month program begins in January!

Personally, I love the little shopping carts to the left of the quilt ; )   —–lisa

Lar’s Civil War Tribute Quilt

We received this note through Judie Rothermel, from quilter Lars Rune in Norway.  He recreated his own very unique version of Marcus Fabrics’ Civil War TRIBUTE quilt.  He wrote to Judie and submitted this photo, explaining:

“I think a quilter has the right to personalise the pattern to make it his own, so I took the Tribute BOM quilt and adapted it to tell a story from my own life. With truly great fabrics from many of your Civil War era prints collected, and information from your Civil War Quilts book, I had enough inspiration to tackle my first quilt project. Judie-AltTributeQuiltIt’s machine pieced and hand quilted — I really love hand quilting. I used YLI hand quilting threads and auditioned the thread to match the prints as best as possible.
I quilted all pieces either 1/4 inch or 3/16 inch from the ditch. I didn’t want the quilt design itself to take away from the prints or blocks. Your ruler was a great help in both cutting the pieces and marking the quilt lines.  All 43 Chronicle prints and 48 Tribute prints are used in this; altogether, approximately 225 of your prints are included.”
We at Marcus congratulate Lars on his beautiful rendition of the Civil War TRUBITE quilt!
